Education

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a second major in Japanese. I graduated in 2011 and obtained an engineering GPA of 3.71/4.00. During my undergraduate career, I participated in a one-year study abroad program at Tohoku University in Sendai, Japan, where I took electrical engineering, math, and Japanese courses.

Experience

My drive to pursue an engineering degree in college came from my initial love of mathematics. Due to my love for mathematics, I already have over one year experience tutoring various math subjects (ranging from pre-algebra to calculus 2). In addition to my degree, I currently have over 2 years experience as a systems engineer working with speed/direction sensor for automotive applications. I believe my combined education and work experience demonstrate my ability to be a competent mathematics tutor.

Hobbies

In addition to my passion for math, I also have a passion to help others. I love working with one or multiple students and seeing that “aha” moment in the student’s faces. My technique of creating the most “aha” moments possible during my tutor sessions is to break down complex/confusing problems into easy-to-understand problems through ample examples and clear explanations. I have seen multiple students who I have tutored raise their grades from low B’s/C’s to low A’s and A’s.
